Saving Multiple Cards in One File
Save Draft saves every system card you have open — for every partnership and federation — together in a single file, instead of one file per card. The first time you save, you'll be asked to name the file; after that, Save Draft writes straight back into that same file with no further prompts.
Load Draft opens a file and loads every card it contains. If the file has more than one card, you'll be asked which one to view first — the others are loaded too, and you can switch to any of them at any time using the Cards dropdown in the header.
Editing the player names on a card you just loaded creates a new card, keeping the original exactly as it was. This is how you can start a new partnership from an existing card as a template: load a card, change the name(s), make whatever changes you need, and save — both the original and the new card end up in the file. (Refining a name on a card you're still in the middle of creating for the first time simply renames it, rather than creating a new card on every keystroke.)
Clearing every field on a card and then saving removes that card from the file entirely, rather than keeping an empty placeholder behind.
Direct Save-in-Place: Browser Support
Save Draft writes straight back into the same file only in browsers that support the File System Access API — Chrome, Edge, and most other Chromium-based browsers. Brave blocks this API entirely, with no setting to turn it on, so in Brave every Save Draft downloads a new file instead of overwriting, and the browser numbers duplicates (1), (2), and so on to avoid replacing the existing one.
If you're on Brave and would rather choose where each download goes (so you can overwrite the existing file yourself), turn on “Ask where to save each file before downloading” in Brave's download settings.
Bold, Italic, Underline, Red and Green Text
Where a field supports rich text, it's WYSIWYG — select (highlight) text in it, and a small toolbar appears just above the selection with B (bold), I (italic), U (underline), Red and Green. Formats can be freely combined — bold and italic, red and underlined, and so on. Click the same button again on the same selection to remove just that formatting without affecting the others.
The toolbar disappears when you click elsewhere or change the selection.
Supplementary Details (Notes)
Where a card has Note # columns in its tables, type a number into one and an entry automatically appears in the Supplementary Details section at the bottom of the form. You can also add a free-standing note directly with the + Add Note button. Notes are sorted numerically.
Extra Pages for Long Notes
In the online PDF, if your notes are too long to fit on one page even at minimum font size, additional pages are automatically added as needed. Each continuation page is labelled Supplementary Details (Continued). There is no practical limit to the number of notes.
In the print PDF, notes are placed in the Supplementary Details box first; if they don't all fit there, the remaining notes continue automatically onto a Supplementary Details (Continued) box, and further pages are added automatically as needed. Notes are never split mid-entry and are never cut off.
Long Text in Fields
All fields in the PDF wrap automatically. Very long unbroken strings (no spaces) will also wrap. If a field contains more text than fits at the minimum font size, the font is reduced automatically to fit within the box.
Shared Data Across Federations
Fields that represent the same underlying detail — player names, general system description, and more — carry over automatically when you switch from one federation's card to another for the same partnership, so you don't need to retype them. Fields specific to one federation's own layout remain specific to it.
Importing from an Existing System Card (PDF)
You can pre-populate the form from an old system card PDF in two steps:
- Upload your PDF to Claude.ai (claude.ai) and ask:
“Extract all the bridge system card fields from this PDF and give me a JSON file I can load into my system card editor.”
Alternatively, use any PDF-to-JSON converter (e.g. Adobe Acrobat online, PDF.co, Smallpdf) to extract the text, then ask Claude to format it as an import JSON.
- Download the JSON, then click Load Draft here to import it.
The Load Draft button accepts both native draft files and Claude-generated import files. Expect most fields to be populated automatically — always review and correct after importing.
Publishing the PDF
Publish to print produces a version laid out for physical printing. Several cards offer a choice between the standard two-sheet duplex booklet and a single folded pocket card — if so, you'll first be asked whether the second sheet needs flipping for your printer's own double-sided printing, then which of the two layouts you want.
Publish online produces a multi-page PDF for on-screen reading, with one section per page.
On the folded pocket card, if the panels don't line up once you've folded a printed copy, that's almost always your printer, not the layout — most printers can't print all the way to the paper's true edge. Try printing with “Fit to printable area” (rather than actual/100% size) instead.
Exactly which of these options are available, and how the panels are laid out, depends on which federation's card you're using — see Federation-Specific Notes below.

Page Layout & Publishing Options
This card has four panels: 1) General / 1NT / Two-level openings / Other aspects, 2) Other opening bids / Defensive methods / Slam conventions, 3) Opening leads / Carding methods, 4) Competitive auctions / Other conventions / Supplementary details.
Publish PDF offers the standard two-sheet duplex booklet or a single folded pocket card. Publish online produces one section per page. Print large produces a large-print, high-contrast multi-page PDF for easier on-screen or printed reading.
The EBU, WBU and NBF cards all draw on one shared set of data, so filling in one carries over to the others automatically for the same partnership.
Publiser online/stort gir ett panel per side.
Om Systemkort A
Systemkort A er NBFs offisielle, ferdig oppsatte referanseskjema — feltene følger papirskjemaet direkte. I motsetning til EBU-/NBF-/Grønt-kortet har det ingen fritekstformatering og ingen notatsystem.

Page Layout & Publishing
This card has three panels: Defensive and Competitive Bidding, Leads and Signals, and the System Card cover (players, category, system summary, special bids, forcing pass, notes). Notes here are free-standing only (added with + Add Note) — there are no Note # columns in the tables.
Publish produces the full three-panel layout as a single A4 landscape sheet. There is no separate online or folded-card option for this card.

Tick Non-standard opening leads and the circle next to Opening Leads on the printed card fills in solid red; leave it unticked and the circle shows the standard card's own reminder text instead.
Publish online/large produces a multi-page A5 portrait PDF, one panel per page. Publish offers the standard two-sheet duplex format or a single folded card; on the folded card, Supplementary Details notes always print at a fixed, legible size, and if they don't all fit, the rest automatically spill onto extra sheets appended to the same PDF rather than being shrunk further or dropped.
About the ACBL Convention Card
This card reproduces the official ACBL Convention Card layout directly — it has no rich-text formatting and no notes system; you fill in fixed fields and checkboxes that are placed exactly where they belong on the printed form.
Publish produces this fixed single-page layout. There is no folded-card, duplex or online option for this card.
